For anyone who has ever spent a day in the beautiful mountains of N Georgia, you know what this title means. All the beauty of the mountains, streams and valleys only an hour to an hour and a half from the traffic of the Atlanta metro area. It seems the people of our neighboring state to the South, Florida, happened to find this beautiful part of my native State of Georgia before many of us did. While they came to escape the humid Florida summers, I came to visit a friend and knew this is where I had to make my home. The peace and beauty Ellijay and the Georgia mountains offer is one of the reasons why I have the best job in the world. When you see the town round about (it used to be the square) you feel like you are in another era. When you visit the local antique shops, you really begin to wonder.
Weather you are looking for a place to retire or a place where you escape the hussle and bussle of city life, it’s all here when you come to the Georgia mountains.
